Here are some frequently asked questions about Machines for Hope.
We specialize in machines used in the food industry, but you’re welcome to contact us about other types of machines you may like to donate.
Submit your list of equipment you wish to donate and we help take care of the rest.
Please allow our Charity Specialists some time to do some homework once you have submitted your list of equipment. We will be in touch as soon as possible. Feel free to contact us if you have not received a response within 48 hours.
At Machines for Hope we are currently focusing on feeding hungry children and educational opportunities for children. Whenever possible your donation will be used to benefit people in your local community, or it will be put into creating programs in your local community if none exist.
You are allowed by law to take a tax deduction for the fair market value of your donated equipment.
Valuation of equipment can be done in a number of ways. Contact us and we can help you determine how much you can write-off through an appropriate valuation method.
It is advisable that you consult your local tax preparation professional or accountant to help determine the maximum amount of your tax deduction.
To receive a tax deduction for equipment, you must donate the equipment to an eligible nonprofit organization such as Machines for Hope. To qualify, the nonprofit must be registered with the Internal Revenue Service, usually as a 501(c)(3) organization. You cannot take the deduction for giving the equipment to an individual or non registered group.
